Charles is serving his second term on the County Council. He lives in Barnhart with his lovely wife, Sharon. They have been married almost 40 years and they live with “Man’s best friend” - their dog, Maynard.  Charles and Sharon have one married daughter, Sarah.

Charles retired after working 35 years for Marquette Tool and Die Company.  He has also served 6 years on the County Council.

As a member of the County Council, Charles:

​

• Provides significant leadership, serving as the Council Chairman for one year and as Council Vice-Chairman for three years, and

​​

• Successfully protected taxpayers against greedy politicians who sued the County for unearned money, and

​​

• Restructured county debt and redirected traffic fines from the state to the County, saving the County tens of millions dollars, and

​​

• Supported law enforcement by endorsing Proposition P, which provides deputies with much needed raises, more personnel and upgraded equipment, and

​

• Voted against development projects which would adversely impact our community.

 

Charles has also served as a board member of the Rock Township Ambulance District. He is currently an officer in Lodge 688 IAMAW, a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squad 0238 and a former World Champion kart racer.
